CBI is a suitable substitute for iron waste in the continuous casting process in the steel industry. Therefore, a high percentage of raw materials to provide melting needed by steelmaking units can be provided through cold briquettes iron.
Advantages of using CBI:
By replacing CBI instead of using scrap, the amount of elements that cannot be used in the melting process, such as Cr,Sn, Cu,Pb, etc., is reduced, and instead, the quality of steel products increases.
High physical resistance , high chemical resistance to decomposition and oxidation, maintenance of metal content, non-self-ignition, easier storage and the ability to be kept in open warehouses, ease of transportation compared to DRI are the advantages of CBI
